Late 1950s Splittermuster camo jacket used by newly formed German Bundeswehr infantry and airborne units for only a couple years. The camo pattern is essentially the WWII German splinter pattern but differs by the prominent white patches that appear to be intentional print screen slippages. The background color is different from WWII colors having either pale bluish or green. This one is the green. In my opinion one of the most appealing camo patterns ever made.
The material is a heavy tight weave cotton like a shelter half making for a very substantial jacket. The details on these jackets and matching pants are above and beyond with elbow reinforcements, double epaulettes, metal d-rings to attach gear, and the top pockets each have three internal pockets for magazines. This jacket has a period replaced zipper and has a fair amount of wear, missing buttons, etc. but is still solid an ready for years of wear. Measures 26 inches at the chest, 22-1/2 inches shoulder seam time seam, 22-1/2 inches shoulder seam to cuff and 29 inches from top of collar to hem along the back.
