Uniform grouping for a Colonel Dinwiddie of the 509th Bomb Wing In the 60s. Includes a 1962 dated L-2B flight jacket, K-2N flight suit and custom leather squadron cap. The 509th was formed at the end of WWII solely for the purpose of dropping the atomic bombs on Japan, which they most certainly did with Enola Gay and Bockscar dropping atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. When Dinwiddie served the wing was likely flying B-47 bombers or maybe B-52s by 1966 in which they participated in The Arclight missions inVietnam out of Guam.
Condition of all items is excellent with minor wear and everything is original including zips and knit. Size of jacket and flight suit are both large and cap is about 7-1/8 although tag says larger.
